Bees are beneficial to the environment and the entire world but most people prefer to keep their distance from them due to the fear factor. Noticing any type of bees around your home is a welcome and special development your environment has over other environments. This doesn’t call for superstition nor extreme fear, rather feel happy and appreciate the natural divination of cross-pollination.
When such things happen, it’s best to contact a professional for assistance which could lead to positive turnovers within your community. Attempting to remove bees yourself superstitiously or through any other kind can prove dangerous to your Eeman (faith) and ineffective in the long run. You risk getting over stung which might cause a disaster. If an exit point from a hive is blocked, bees may find their way inside your house when the hive is closer to your house. All you need to do is to contact a professional beekeeper for removal and relocation. (Assoutudeen Farms will assist on that.)
Honey-bee venom has evolved as an effective defence mechanism over millions of years and is one of the reasons why everyone isn’t a beekeeper. Bees excrete it through their stingers into a target when they feel threatened. It contains both anti-inflammatory and inflammatory compounds, including enzymes, sugars, minerals, and amino acids.
It is a clear, odourless liquid comprising around 88% water and it has very complex chemistry that researchers have not stopped working on.
At least 18 pharmacologically active components have been described, including various enzymes, peptides and amines. Of the small proteins, one called melittin constitutes about 50% of the venom’s dry weight. This hydrolyzes cell membranes, causing changes in permeability, and is most responsible for the pain when somebody is stung!
This Melittin is a special compound that consists of 26 amino acids comprises about 50% of the dry weight of the venom and has been shown to have antiviral, antibacterial, and anticancer effects in some studies.
🐝 How Deadly is Bee Venom
Pain from some bee stings is caused by an acidic compound in their venom called melittin which activates the pain receptors. Most people who are stung will also experience some degree of swelling caused by histamines.
For people with allergies, though, bee stings can prove dangerous, or even fatal (though rare). People with severe allergies may die within an hour after being stung due to the result of respiratory dysfunction or anaphylaxis. While it may sound frightening, this usually only happens in around one per cent of cases, typically in adults over the age of 40 who have been stung in the head or face.
Venom poisoning can be caused by large numbers of bees, and this can cause death in non-hypersensitive individuals. It has been estimated that it would take 500–1500 stings for this to occur.
📛 Note: Death is most often induced by a single sting and usually occurs within one hour of the sting. Be careful of uncontrolled bee stings.
